WHO WE ARE

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the hurting and hungry around us to build relationships and point them to where they can truly find their hope— Jesus.
Based on the scripture of Matthew 12:21, the vision of Hope Through Him is to bring the helpless, hurting, and hopeless hope through the love and teaching of Jesus.
OUR
VISION
OUR
GOAL
Many organizations are doing good work in Honduras. Most, however, focus only on physical needs. We believe the needs of the people in Honduras go far beyond just physical. The most urgent need in this country is their need to see Jesus for who He is and not who the world around them says He is. For us, mission work is not only to assist with physical needs like food, water, shelter, medicine, education but to find those needs and use them as a way to build relationships with them so they can get to know the Jesus we know. We also want everything we develop to be sustainable; that means training Honduran leaders.
OUR TEAM
We are blessed with a great team of people who all have a heart for the people we serve and a deep desire to make Jesus known. We are positive that only God could have put this group together!

Brad & Cristy Lenderman
Brad, with his wife Cristy and daughter Shelby, started Hope Through Him in 2014. He and his family were involved in international ministry for a long time before feeling God calling them here. Brad is the vision guy. He is always thinking of what is next and how the ministry can grow. When God shows Him the big things He wants to do here, Brad trusts Him to make them happen.
Cristy has a huge role in all the planning that has to be done to make this ministry run smoothly. She is the kind-hearted, merciful leader this ministry needs. She always has the good of those we serve in mind. She does a lot behind the scenes that people don't see, and that's why we couldn't do any of this without her.

Logan, Shelby, and Sofi Miller
Shelby has spent every summer/break in Honduras since her parents started the ministry in 2014. Logan came on a trip with HTH in 2015 and the rest is history. Shelby and Logan moved to Honduras full-time after they both finished their degrees in 2022. They lead a lot of the day-to-day of Iglesia Esperanza, our medical clinic, and some of our fundraising efforts.
Sofia Jean joined the team in February 2024 and has brought so much joy and childlike faith to our team. She keeps us on our toes, and she loves nothing more than hanging out with "the boys" from the DC program or seeing her freinds in Campo Llano. The Millers love our city and are committed to seeing the local church grow here!

Francis Fajardo
Francis was a teacher at a Christian bilingual school for 17 years when she felt God calling her to work with HTH. She teaches our Dream Center students everyday and also oversees our education program in Campo Llano. Francis loves finding hands-on lessons to get the students excited about learning. She uses each class as an opportunity to pour into our students and train them up to be Christian men of character.

Alejandra Fajardo
Alejandra started translating for HTH in 2017 when she was on break from university. She fell in love with the ministry and the communities we serve. When she finished her psychology degree in 2021, she decided to come and use her skills as part of our ministry. She wears many hats in our ministry doing group therapy with our boys, one on ones with every student, teaching library, talking about hygiene, helping with social media. She does so much, but she is intentional and excellent in everything she does. So many breakthroughs have happened in her one on ones or therapy workshop, we love having her on our team!

Caleb Vindel
Caleb is our logistics coordinator. He is the guy who keeps the lights on, food in our feeding programs, teams fed, and construction materials delivered. If it's a moving part, Eric is probably behind it, making it move. Caleb started serving with us in 2020 when hurricanes destroyed our city and then he just kept showing up any time we asked for volunteers. He has a huge heart and is a natural leader!

Claudia Pena
Claudia has been a gift since the beginning of the Hope Leaders Program in Campo Llano. Claudia went to school to be a teacher and is able to use her skills in a more intentional setting. She is our eyes and ears for everything that happens in that community. We are so thankful for her. She's an example to all the kids in her community of how to use your education to make the world around them a better place.

Cristian Henao
Cristian started working for HTH in 2022 as our soccer coach. In the first few months of getting to know Cristian, we saw his passion for teaching and the Bible. He began teaching Bible classes and speaking at La Mesa. He is so talented and makes the Bible so interesting and approachable for our students. We love having Cristian as a part of the HTH team!

Javier Henao
Javier came to Honduras for his brother Cristian's wedding and came to spend a few days with our ministry. During those days, Javier felt that God had plans for him in El Progreso. Javier is studying audiovisual production and is very passionate about worship. He leads the worship band for our Conexión students and La Mesa services. He also helps Cristian with soccer practice and takes every chance to invest in to the boys in our DC student program.

Alejandra Avila
Alejandra joined our team in January of 2026 as the Children's Director of Iglesia Esperanza. She has grown up serving the local church through Children's Ministry and she has been an amazing asset to our team. She has a heart to see the next generation learn about and develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Ale is a gifted teacher and makes bible stories come to life in her preschool class. She is also an amazing leader and loves to empower members of our church to step into their calling in serving our kids!
